Product Overview

Vertrel™ XF Specialty Fluid is a proprietary hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) cleaning fluid developed by Chemours for precision cleaning, rinsing, drying, and vapor degreasing applications. It is a clear, colorless liquid with zero ozone depletion potential and is suitable for use in vapor degreasing equipment.

Also known as HFC 43-10mee or 2,3-dihydrodecafluoropentane, Vertrel™ XF combines high density, low viscosity, and low surface tension with non-flammability and chemical and thermal stability.

The fluid is used in cleaning and rinsing, particulate removal, lubricant deposition, heat transfer, and dielectric applications. It can replace hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and perfluorocarbon (PFC) fluids in most applications.

Vertrel™ XF also serves as the base fluid for several products in the Chemours Vertrel™ range.

Econtrol Devices is an authorized distributor of TMC Industries, supplying Vertrel™ XF Specialty Fluid for professional cleaning and specialty fluid applications.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Zero Ozone Depletion Potential: Vertrel™ XF has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0.

  • Non-Flammable: Does not become flammable during boiling or evaporation and has no open-cup or closed-cup flash point.

  • Low Viscosity: Supports cleaning and removal of fine particulate contamination.

  • Low Surface Tension: Suitable for precision cleaning, rinsing, and drying applications.

  • High Liquid Density: Combines with low viscosity to support particulate removal during flush cleaning.

  • Thermal Stability: Thermally stable up to 300°C (572°F), as stated in the Chemours Technical Data Sheet.

  • Chemical Stability: Does not oxidize or degrade during normal storage conditions.

  • Recoverable by Distillation: Can be recovered using off-line or in-line distillation equipment.

  • Solvent Replacement: Suitable as an alternative to HCFC, PFC, and CFC-113 fluids in many applications.

  • VOC-Exempt: HFC 43-10mee is exempt from classification as a volatile organic compound (VOC) by the U.S. EPA.
