  • Phase-Change Materials (PCMs): These materials can soak heat by changing their form from solid to liquid. They are also compact and light, hence suitable for use in an EV.
  • Smart Thermal Management Systems: AI is expected to be used in future EVs to monitor and regulate temperature change in real-time. These systems optimize energy use and improve overall efficiency.
  • Lightweight Materials: The high thermal conductivity of weightless materials dissipates heat better without increasing vehicle weight.

On the other hand, there are numerous upcoming developments toward the future of thermal management in electric vehicles, including

  • AI-Driven Systems: This would allow continuous temperature monitoring and control through artificial intelligence making energy use more efficient.
  • Integrated Systems: For instance, future EVs may integrate thermal management into other systems, such as cabin climate control, thereby further optimizing energy use.
