Synopsis: Through approval from Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, a Rs 357 crore project was granted to enhance water supply in Kalyan-Dombivali Thane district. The AMRUT Mission supports this project as its main objective is to enhance water utility in the target region.Â
A large drinking water project totaling Rs 357 crore received approval for Kalyan-Dombivali residents in the Thane district. Eknath Shinde, as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, sanctioned this plan through Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme regulations. The project targets the water supply system enhancement for Kalyan-Dombivali and its neighboring 27 villages.
This project seeks to advance the present water distribution systems. This upgrade will boost storage facilities to 105 million cubic meters, thus providing a reliable and constant water supply for residents. The development project will enable residents to obtain clean, adequate water for regular use.
The project gained authorization from both the State Level Technical Committee and State Level High Power Steering Committee before the final approval was obtained. The proposed project will start building after the Deputy Chief Minister provides his final approval.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received praise from Eknath Shinde for his support of the development project. Shinde simultaneously leads the Urban Development, PWD, and Housing departments. The current Deputy Chief Minister declared that water upgrade projects represent key necessities for both community welfare and regional progress.
The Kalyan-Dombivali area has endured water supply problems for many years. The growing pace of urbanization necessitated improvements to existing water supply systems because it intensified community water needs. The initiative aims to resolve these problems through reliable distribution of water for domestic as well as commercial consumption throughout the region.
This project serves as a basic requirement because it enhances living standards throughout the community. The construction of improved storage infrastructure will eliminate the problems associated with water shortages for residents. The enhanced system will handle the expanding population base of this present area.
Project authorities have guaranteed that the total work will progress efficiently and on schedule. The project completion will provide relief to residents from thousands of households that depend on municipal water supply.
The people of Kalyan-Dombivali, together with residents from neighboring villages, have reacted positively to this news. According to public opinion, the installation of a strong water supply system will lead to enhanced sanitation practices and improved hygiene.
This project demonstrates the government’s persistent dedication to urban growth and people’s welfare by receiving its approval. Studies suggest this initiative will positively impact the everyday lives of residents in this area.
