 EV Battery Cooling System Overview

Electric vehicle (EV) adoption is quickly incorporated into the world’s agenda. However, one problem that persists is thermal management in EV batteries. Air Cooling Systems and Liquid Cooling Systems

Air cooling and liquid cooling are the two primary methods of Battery Cooling. These two approaches have many advantages and are implemented based on the vehicle’s requirements.

Air Cooling

Cooling by air is also the easiest and cheapest method of Cooling Batteries. A fan blows air across the battery cells for heat removal. It is common among hybrid and low-range electric vehicles due to its lightweight and low service requirements. Despite the advantages, air cooling has limitations

  • Lesser cooling potential as compared to liquid cooling.
